If I could look at it and tell that it wasn't done professionally then I let it go. This is because the store can get fined so much per print (last I heard it was about $10,000 per print), Kodak, store & employee could get sued by the holder of the negatives and the employee could be fired.

I had my people look at the paper (some paper will say that it is professional paper), look for trademark (like Olan Mills on the front and back) and any copyright symbols after anything on the picture. There is a strict rule that if it looks professional done that we can reprint it on the Kodak Picture Maker. I was a photo lab manager for Kmart before we closed them and I can tell you from experience that it can be tough on us and our lab techs. Has anyone else ever had this problem before? Until then, my photos are being held hostage in the Photo Center!!! I have to go back on Monday to speak with him. So, I asked to speak with the store manager, who was, not surprisingly, unavailable. I asked to speak with the Photo Center manager and he was just as clueless. Suddenly, she got very suspicious of me, and told me she would not be able to do anything. I also had to tell her that I didn't have "originals" since these were taken on a digital camera and were uploaded to their website. I explained that these backdrops are the same for every person who goes through there, and surely, they've had other people drop off photos from Disneyworld before. They were far from professional (however, I was flattered she thought my photos looked professional!!). So, I go to pick up the photos and the woman is like, "We need to see the originals." I asked her why, and she explained to me that the photos appeared to be "professionally done" in a studio, with a "professional backdrop." I informed her that the pictures were taken with my $99 digital camera at a character greeting area in the Magic Kingdom. Anyway, I submitted my online order, no problems at all. I wanted to get some enlargements of pictures with my friends and I and some of the characters. I used the Walmart online photo center to get some additional prints made of my last trip to WDW.
